KUKIO/HUALALAI HONU HEALTH ASSESSMENT AUGUST 28,2025
Laura Jim, Robyn Scarth and Marc Rice were joined by 6 American Samoan wildlife biologests and an enforcement officer who were interested in learning how the HPA STRP team conducts in water capture work, data gathering, tagging and recording during a honu health assessment. Seven HPA student researchers assisted the operation and shared stories with our guests from American Samoa. During the day we were able to capture and process 8 honu.
