Laura Jim took 4 members of the HPA SCUBA Club on a boat dive with Kona Diving Company on Sunday (5/10/26) out of Kaloko-Honokohau Harbor. Just as they were getting to the first dive site of the day, the boat captain exclaimed, “Oh My… there is a whale shark here” and told everyone to quickly don their snorkel gear and get in the water. Everyone got in and was able to swim with the whale shark for about 5 minutes before it swam off. It was an exciting experience and one that few people are privileged to have. The two dives, after the whale shark experience, went very well and below are some pictures of the whale shark and the dives.
